China: GDP Grew 6.9% and CPI Up 1.4% YOY

Beijing | 8th June 2017

In the first quarter of 2017 the Chinese economy staged a good start as growth stabilized amidst positive signs and economic efficiency improved.  The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 6.9 percent year on year, and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was up by 1.4 percent year on year.

The share of the tertiary industry in the economy continued to rise, industrial production accelerated, and growth of investment in manufacturing and in private investment has rebounded.
