Hong Kong Official Currency Reserve Assets at $419.2 Billion in September 2017

Hong Kong | 9th October 2017

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (Monday) that the official foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong amounted to $419.2 billion as at the end of September 2017 (end-August 2017: $413.8 billion).

” HONG KONG OFFICIAL RESERVE AT US$419.2 BILLION “

Including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, the foreign currency reserve assets of Hong Kong at the end of September 2017 amounted to $410.9 billion (end-August 2017: $405.5 billion).

The total foreign currency reserve assets of $419.2 billion represent over seven times the currency in circulation or about 47% of Hong Kong dollar M3.
