Philippines International Reserves at $80.62 Billion in October 2017

Manila | 7th October 2017

Preliminary data showed that the country’s gross international reserves (GIR) level slid marginally to US$80.62 billion as of end-October 2017 from the previous month’s US$80.96 billion.

At this level, the GIR could adequately cover 8.4 months’ worth of imports of goods and payments of services and primary income. It is also equivalent to 5.4 times the country’s short-term external debt based on original maturity and 3.6 times based on residual maturity.
