Philippines Balance of Payments at $917 Million Surplus in December 2017

The country’s overall balance of payments (BOP) position posted a surplus of $917 million in December 2017, a turnaround from the $214 million BOP deficit recorded in the same month in 2016.

Notwithstanding the surplus recorded in December, the full-year 2017 BOP posted a higher deficit of $863 million compared to the $420 million BOP deficit recorded in 2016.
